Get out of your food rut!

 So often we end up eating the same meals and same snacks and we get bored!

 

 

Then we find ourselves desperate for some excitement, some kind of change of pace, and we end up going all out ordering a whole bunch of takeout, getting a bunch of snacks we normally wouldn't allow ourselves to buy, etc. 

And then, we freak out that we 'went overboard' and retreat back to our food rut.

This is your permission slip to switch it up and try something different!!!

Try that new meal and buy the new snacks.

 

In fact, a new challenge for you! 

Next time you're at the grocery store I challenge you to buy 2 new foods

Have fun with food, let it be exciting on empowering terms.

Your Body Freedom Tip 

Notice when you are slouching and have your shoulders rounded forward that it sends a signal to your body that something is wrong.

 To our body, it appears that we are trying to protect our vital organs by hunching over. 

Studies show that when we have bad posture we think more negative thoughts about ourselves.  

 But when we have our shoulders pulled down and back, chest high, and are technically exposing our vital organs like our heart, we feel more confident and think more positive thoughts because of the increase in testosterone. 

So if you're feeling down, thinking negative thoughts, and turning to food to help self-soothe, try standing up and going for a short walk with good posture and feel the difference!

If you struggle with eating past full, practice taking a few deep breaths all the way into the low belly.

Inhale to the count of 4

Exhale for the count of 7

This will get you into your parasympathetic nervous system (rest, DIGEST, and heal) and help you to eat more slowly and mindfully.

When this happens, we are better able to tap into and feel our fullness cues #workwithyourbody.

Emotions are data points.

Emotions tell us what our values are. What we care about. What are the unhealed parts of ourselves. BUT only if we name them and feel them to heal them. 

We live in a society built off “positive vibes only”, never letting ourselves be sad or really feel anything. 

We numb, we avoid, we eat and then feel disgusted with ourselves. And we repeat the cycle.  

If we want to feel empowered in our life we have to give permission to ourselves to feel ALL of our emotions, not just the positive ones.
