Sexologist, goddess and good friend Kristen Murray is back for another kick-ass episode to teach us everything we need to know about being a badass feminine woman.

It is not uncommon in our society to perceive femininity as weak and fragile and masculinity as strong and capable. I was guilty of this and spent the majority of my life trying to avoid being feminine. It is only recently that I have begun to embrace my feminine side and all its untapped power.

In today’s episode, we divulge all there is to know about what it ACTUALLY means to be feminine. Kristen answers questions such as:

  • What is femininity vs. masculinity?
  • What are the biggest myths about feminine and masculine energy?
  • Why is it bad that so many women get stuck in their masculine energy?
  • What action steps can we take to be more in our feminine energy?

Listen to this episode if you’re ready to take back your strong feminine power.

July 25, 2019 - EP 28: Yes It's Common... No It's NOT Normal

When something is common, we recognize that we are not alone and that others also deal with this problem as well... But we can't get that confused with what is normal. Normal implies that we are ordinary, that nothing needs to change and that we should continue on living the way we are.

Here's the thing however, until we are shown evidence or talk about what is normal, then by default we consider what is common around us as normal.

In this episode I debate three deeply misunderstood common versus normal topics in our society:

  1. depression
  2. foreboding joy
  3. food guilt

Listen to this episode if you want to challenge how you think about your own life and what is common versus normal for you.

July 18, 2019 - EP 27: Food Psychology 101: It's All About The "Why" with Joni Seeto

We are asking ourselves the wrong question when it comes to our eating habits. We need to shift our focus to "why" we're eating instead of "what" we're eating.

It is not uncommon for us to search for happiness in all the wrong places and Joni Seeto was no exception. Joni who struggled binge and emotional eating, falsely thought that she was the only one who couldn't stick to a diet and for years believed she could achieve happiness through external things.

Growing up in Belgium Joni never learned how to process her feelings and used food to cope which ultimately led to being put on a diet from an early age.

Now Joni is an eating psychology coach living in Australia where she works to bring awareness around binge and emotional eating and shares with others how to recover from disordered eating.

Listen to this episode if you are ready to learn:

  • what next steps to take to heal your relationship with food
  • how to stop binge and emotional eating
  • why you need to get curious...

July 11, 2019 - EP 26: Do You Fit Into The Body Positivity Movement?

Do I fit into the body positivity movement?
This was a question that haunted me for many years and to be honest I thought the answer was no.
No, I don’t fit it because my body does not resemble the people I see calling themselves body positive in media...therefore I cannot be apart of this popular movement, right?
Well as I moved through my eating disorder recovery I began to see the body positivity movement in a different light and I invite you to explore that with me.
In this episode I examine:
  • what it means to be body positive
  • misconceptions around this movement
  • relationship between body positivity and intuitive eating
Listen to this episode if you are ready to discover the meaning behind body positivity and how it can be applied to your life in a real way.

"I went from alcohol and drugs to food to people... subbing in different addictions.... Could I sit with myself and be a little uncomfortable with myself? ” -Sara Silverstein

Sara was living the fast life in New York City where for 6 years she was stuck drinking and being a "disaster party girl", often putting herself in unsafe situations and surrounded by bad people. After hitting a low point she began her recovery journey and quickly found herself in the pursuit of money climbing the corporate America ladder. Her life from the outside looked perfect, the loving boyfriend, the established career, the gorgeous home... yet she felt morally bankrupt.

In this inspiring  and insightful episode, Sara and I discuss how she turned her life around and became a meditation teacher who through the power of breath, now helps others find out what it means to be connected, fulfilled and happy in their own lives.

June 20, 2019 - EP 23: Want to know what recovery really looks like?

I get raw. I get real. I get vulnerable.

I share with you my honest account what some days in recovery feel like in hopes that others feel less alone.

Below are excerpts from this episode.

"My eating disorder was my worst enemy and my best friend. You tell me that anorexia is bad, you tell me that bulimia is bad yet you have the audacity to stand there and look me in the eyes and tell me I look beautiful"

"You have no idea the battle people are fighting because you can't always see an eating disorder, it is not obvious... My 6 pack abs were a reflection of the irony that was the societal image of health. I looked like the epitome of wellness while on the inside being the epitome of sickness."

"Eating disorders are not illnesses of the body but illness the mind. So no it may not look like my body is ill but my mind is. So don't tell me I look beautiful, don't ask how to look like me..."

When we talk about it we remove the shame, we take its power and we heal <3

June 13, 2019 - EP 22: Taking down diet culture -Naomi (@dietculturesucks)

“ We look at individual eating disorder sufferers and say “what’s wrong with you? Why do you think this way around food?” And we put in on them and ignore the structures that created this toxic environment that girls grow up in.” -Naomi (@dietculturesucks)

22 year old Naomi, also known online as “@dietculturesucks” is destroying the diet industry by speaking out about all things diet culture, eating disorders, intuitive movement, fat phobia and body love. She uses her wildly popular instagram account as a guide for what she needed to hear as her 15 year old self.

In a raw, educational and vulnerable episode today we discuss what living with an eating disorder feels like and the complicated process of navigating through it in a culture that reinforces disordered eating behaviors.

Also in this episode we dig into:

  • “Harmless dieting” as a gateway for disordered eating
  • Role of fatphobia on eating disorders
