During our period our "feel-good" hormone, serotonin, takes a sudden dip, whilst our stress hormone, cortisol, spikes. So we’re in pain and we’re stressed.
Our body, trying to be our friend, wants to help us, so it seeks to self-medicate through food in order to release good hormones in our body.
Don’t get mad at yourself for eating more on your period, get more self-compassionate.
